A trip to the farm...

Oh my, this post is jam packed with photos! Jacob and I had such a fun day at the farm last week (4/17) that I had a hard time limiting the photos to include. My best friend Rebekah and her kids were up from North Carolina visiting family for a couple weeks. She was staying with her mother-in-law who lives on a beautiful little hobby farm. Rebekah invited us to come down and spend a day on the farm. She thought it might be Spring Break for my kids, but that was the week before, so unfortunately Nate, Abby and Noah couldn't go with us. They missed almost a week of school right before Spring Break when we were all sick, so I didn't want to take them out for another day. I did take Jacob out of preschool for the day, though, and we headed down to check out the farm.

Right away when we got there, Rebekah and her kids came outside to greet us. They were so excited to show us the baby animals. We went to see the baby goats first. Here is Jacob holding a goat that is just five days old!

After lunch we went to another farm where Donna's husband (aka Papa Dan) works. There we got to see lots of baby lambs, but this little sweetheart seemed to be everyone's favorite. Here I am holding Addy the lamb. She is being bottlefed because she wasn't getting enough milk from her mama. She is just like a little puppy dog... she follows everyone around, especially Dan.

Jacob spotted this sleigh in the barn, so he had to climb up for a picture. He and Leelyn had fun pretending they were Santa's helpers delivering presents.

Now Jacob gets a turn to feed Addy the lamb with a bottle. She is just the cutest thing!!

Jacob loved the kid sized tractors at the farm. He and the other kids rode all over the place!

Papa Dan took the kids to ride Jack the donkey. Jacob was a little nervous because he was riding bareback, so it was kind of hard to hang on!

Right behind the barn where Jack the donkey lives is this giant sand mine. We actually went down into it after I took this picture. Jacob called it "the world's biggest sandbox". He couldn't believe we could actually go play in there!

We had such a fun day visiting the farm, and the weather was absolutely gorgeous! Thanks again Rebekah and Donna for inviting us!
