5 more days!

Yes, I'm counting down until school starts. We're getting really close! All of the kids are looking forward to it now, with the exception of Nate. I may have just a twinge of guilt about wanting them back in school so badly, but I just read something on another blog that made so much sense. And it completely explains my feelings. It's simple, really.... I need them to go away (to school) so I can miss them. It makes me appreciate them so much more!

I will have 3 mornings a week to myself this year... that is 6 HOURS each week all by myself. What ever will I do with myself? I'm sure I'll find something to help pass the time. Of course, I will have Roxxie with me to keep me company. Speaking of Roxxie, she is doing great... we absolutely love her! She is 11 weeks old now, and growing every day. Jacob got over his fear of dogs very quickly, now he is very attached to her. In fact, he won't leave her alone! Sometimes she enjoys the attention, other times not so much.

Here they are taking a walk over to the neighbor's house...

And I thought I'd throw this picture in to show you Abby's new haircut. Doesn't she look nice? It sure makes brushing her hair much easier.

That's it for now.... have a nice holiday weekend, everyone!

Meet Roxxie....

We went and picked up this new little addition to our family yesterday. Yep, we finally caved! Of course, the kids have always wanted a puppy, but Steve and I kept putting it off because our last experience with a dog didn't go so well. After seeing Clay and Mari Ellyn's Sheltie last weekend, we were reminded what a great dog she is, and both of my uncles used to have Shelties that were excellent dogs also. So I started researching breeders online, and when I found one that had puppies available, we decided to take the plunge!

Roxxie is 8 weeks old, and she is the sweetest little thing! We have only had her for one day, but I can just tell she is going to be a wonderful companion.

Jacob is not used to being around dogs, so he was scared at first, but I knew it wouldn't take long at all for him to fall in love with her too...

The kids can't get enough of her right now. Abby and Noah thought this doll chair was just her size...

Isn't she the cutest little fuzzball you've ever seen!?

She slept the whole night last night, without any whimpering or fussing. I was amazed! She's had a couple accidents (which I fully expected), so I am especially glad that we have wood laminate floors on our main level.
Well, I just had to share our excitement with you all! That's it for now.....
Have a great week,
Deb
