Riding in style

Check out what we bought a couple weeks ago.... a Schwinn Hitchhiker bike attachment for Jacob. We are having so much fun taking family bike rides now. Jacob is too little to keep up on his own bike, but with this he still gets to ride like the rest of us. At first he was a little bit scared, but after one ride he loved it!

On another note, here's something cool I found on another blog. Have you ever seen those photo collages that spell out words? My cousin Alex made a really neat one for an American Cancer Society auction recently. It spelled out "Cancer can't". I wish I had a picture of it... anyway, this website, Spell with flickr, does something kind of like that. Just type in a word, and it automatically pops up with pictures for each letter. It's kind of fun!

Have a great day!

Subscribe to our blog!

Hey all...

I just figured out how to add a subscription box for the blog. It is over on the right side, towards the top. All you have to do is enter your email address and hit the subscribe button, and then you will be notified by email whenever I update here at The Pierce Post. Isn't that cool? So go ahead and do it! :) I used to email friends and family when I did a new post, but it has been hit or miss lately. It is much easier for me if it's automated. I hope you will consider it...

Have a great weekend!

Catching up with Papa and ME (Mari Ellyn)...

Hi everyone! I'm finally getting around to doing an update. Hope you are all having a great weekend. We had a great day yesterday. We spent it with Clay and Mari Ellyn at Triponds Campground. Tammy, Brian and Nicole came out and joined all of us too. It was a beautiful day, and it was so great to see them! This is the first time we have seen Clay and Mari Ellyn since sometime last fall, before they left for the winter.

Here is Jacob petting Sheltie. She is the sweetest little dog you'll ever meet! We have all fallen in love with her!

Noah is checking out the frog pond...

There was a petting zoo at the campground. At a certain time, all the kids can go in to pet and feed the animals. Here is Nicole holding one of the baby chicks:

Abby loved petting and brushing the sheep. They were so soft!

Nate was so excited when he caught this chicken so he could hold it. He came over to me and said, "Mom, Can you take a picture of me? This is a big deal for me!" He's so funny!

And here's Jake with his Papa Clay.

We had such a great visit! We are looking forward to the next one.

The Bravest Baby...

Here he is, the bravest baby of all... (this is Jacob on the day he was born)

The other day when we were in the car, 4 year old Jacob asked from the backseat, "Mom, how did I get out of your tummy?" I laughed out loud, since the question seemed to come out of nowhere, and I told him the story. I said after growing in my tummy for many months until he was big and strong enough, he finally decided that it was time to come out and see the world... and it just so happened that it was right in the middle of our family Christmas party. (I guess he wanted to crash the party!)

*

I told him Mom and Dad headed off to the hospital, and the doctor came to help, and he caught him when he came out and the nurses cleaned him up and blah, blah, blah.... :) The most important thing I told him was that Mommy and Daddy were so happy to have a new son, and we gave him lots of hugs and kisses and love! (He liked that part the best.) At the end, I added that we were worried for a minute because he didn't cry when he was born like most babies do. But then the doctor checked him out and said he was okay, so we weren't worried anymore. He smiled and said, "I didn't cwy because I was the BWAVEST BABY OF ALL!!"

Sometimes I think I could just eat that kid up because he is so stinkin' adorable! LOL

Happy 4th of July!!

Have a happy and safe holiday weekend, everyone! We had a picnic lunch at Ransom Park today, which was lots of fun. Noah and I beat Steve and Abby in a very close game of ladderball (also known as ladder golf, hillbilly golf, bolo ball and a slew of other names). Nate and Jacob didn't want to play. I planned to take pictures there, but found that the batteries in my camera were dead. Don't ya hate when that happens!? Here is a photo I took when we got home...

Later on this evening we are going to Kollen Park to see two of Steve's friends play in their band, and also for the fireworks, of course. The kids can't wait!

Have a great weekend!

Sweet Melody

Jacob learned this song recently at Vacation Bible School. He has been singing it non-stop for the past week. He loves doing the motions, and I think he is just so darn cute! So I thought I'd share the joy with you guys, hee hee....
